Holiday Special Events

Spotlight Events
church tourDowntown Vision is please to present the 4th Annual Downtown Historic Church Tour on December 4, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Tour a century of sanctuaries in one afternoon and explore the streets of Downtown with family and friends.  Volunteers will be available at each of the ten historic churches to share the architectural and historical highlights on this self-guided tour. Several churches are within walking distance and trolley service is provided along the tour route.  This great event is only $5 and free for children under 12!

Kick off the last month of the year with Art Walk: Top Hats and Tails on on December 1 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.!  This monthdressage's theme celebrates some special Jacksonville equestrian guests!  Plus, JTA is commemorating it's 55th birthday with free rides on the Skyway.  The Riverside Trolley will be running until 12 p.m. that evening, and Bella Limo, in partnership with Cafe 331, will be offering shuttle service to five different stops Downtown.  Other highlights include equine artist Donna Grasso at Elemental Gallery and Studio, a special equestrian exhibit hosted by The Northeast Florida Dressage Club at the Carling, and works from the "Cost of Freedom" juried art show and the "Guess Who?!" fundraiser at TAC II.

Leading Indicators

Where can you see The Lovin' Spoonful, Danny Goku from Jax Fair 2010American Idol, Robinson's Famous Racing Pigs and the ultimate dog show?  Oh yeah, and don't forget the funnel cakes and corn dogs.  That's right, the Greater Jacksonville Fair is back!  Running until November 14, the Fair features cooking contests, Guitar Hero tournaments and more!

The Empty Bowls Luncheon takes place on November 16 at the Prime Osborn III Convention Center and demonstrates Empty Bowlscommunity support for those who are coping with hunger in North Florida. Local celebrities
are servers for the event. Area students and senior citizen groups have created original, handcrafted ceramic bowls for every guest. Luncheon attendees are invited to select a bowl to take home.


We have two back-to-back home games!  On November 14, the Jaguars take on the Houston Texans and on November 21, they go up against the Cleveland Browns!  The City of Jacksonville is once again offering FREE parking at the Courthouse West parking lot and the jaguars field winMain & Forysth parking lot, a short walk from the stadium.  Plus, come down to E-Town, where Northstar Substation, Dos Gatos, Mark's and the Ivy Ultra Bar  will all be open from half-time  to post-game!
